John Conrad has extensive experience as a trial attorney, having successfully handled thousands of diverse cases and tried hundreds of cases before juries throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  John also represents individuals, businesses and agencies in municipal, county and state government, zoning, and economic development matters.



John has a record of extensive experience in legal, political, governmental and community affairs:

  • Over thirty years' experience as a trial attorney

Saemi Murphy, Associate

Saemi Murphy joined The Conrad Firm as an associate in 2007.  She received her B.A. from Cornell University in 2003 and received her J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond in 2006. 

While at T.C. Williams School of Law, Saemi participated in the Trial Advocacy Competition and was invited to join the Trial Advocacy Board during her first year.  Before joining the Conrad Firm, Saemi interned at the Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office through University of Richmond’s clinical placement program.  She also defended juvenile delinquents while working at the Children’s Law Center at University of Richmond. 

Saemi’s practice at The Conrad Firm is concentrated in the areas of litigation, local government and personal injury matters.

Abbigale Fredrick , Counsel

Ms. Fredrick’s practice at The Conrad Firm is concentrated in the areas of litigation, local government, design professionals, insurance and personal injury matters.

Beverly Crockett, Office Administrator

Beverly Crockett received her B.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1974. She is the Office Administrator and a legal assistant for The Conrad Firm. Beverly has worked in the legal field for twenty-four years and has worked with John Conrad since 1984.  In addition to her full-time job with The Conrad Firm, Beverly has worked as a fitness specialist with the YMCA and is currently involved with Special Olympics and numerous church activities.

 

 

 

Beth Cheatham, Paralegal

Beth Cheatham is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College and the National Center For Paralegal Training. She has worked as a paralegal since 1980 and has worked with John Conrad since 1985.  Beth assists primarily with civil litigation matters including premise and product liability, and auto accident cases.  She is responsible for case evaluations; trial preparation; summarizing medical records, depositions and hearing transcripts; accident investigation; interviewing and preparation of witnesses; drafting pleadings; answering discovery; research and fact-finding.  In addition to her full-time job with The Conrad Firm, Beth is a Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.

 

 

Sue Wood, Legal Assistant

Sue Wood is a native of Richmond, Virginia.  She has been a legal secretary/legal assistant since 1988, assisting senior partners in law firms in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia.  Sue has been with The Conrad Firm since 2002.  She attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied fashion design, business and music.  With some persuasion, she will play her violin at parties.  Sue has participated in volunteer fund raising projects for St. Catherine's School, The Valentine Museum, and the Richmond Symphony Women's volunteer group.

Kristin Davis, Paralegal

Kristin Davis is a 2005 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. She has eight years of legal experience in regulatory, administrative law, general corporate matters, litigation, insurance, worker's compensation, personal injury, property damage, and automobile accidents.

Kristin has worked for The Conrad Firm since 2003. After graduating from college, Kristin joined the firm as a full-time paralegal. Her duties include trial preparation; deposition summaries; interviewing clients/witnesses; drafting pleadings/discovery; research; and summarizing medical bills/records.
